Open Letter is seeking submissions for a special issue dedicated to the writing of Gail Scott. This issue invites writers and critics to engage with any aspect of Scott’s work. Possible topics may include (but are certainly not limited to):
*Prosaics and the importance of the ordinary or everyday
*Montréal architecture / text architecture
*Political and cultural grammars of Scott’s writing
*Rituals of contact and contamination
*Reassessments of Scott’s early writing
*Cross-continent connections
*Unruly ventures in literary / cinematic genres: travel writing, detective fiction, noir
*Surrealism
*Hauntology
*Flies on the wall and other forms of posthuman cognition
*Modes of (self)surveillance; systems of observation
*Alternative genealogies
*Scott’s contributions to theories of queer narrative, translation, feminist poetics
