The Puritan is proud to announce Canada's newest literary contest! The Inaugural Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence recognizes the best in fiction and poetry for 2012. The winner in each field will receive a generous prize package including monetary compensation as well as a collection of books from some of Canada's most celebrated small presses. The winning entries will also appear in The Puritan's upcoming end-of-the-year Best-Of Print Anthology. Be the first to pin the longest literary prize title in Canada onto your list of accolades. Bounties
Fiction winner: $650/ Poetry winner: $350
Prize Package includes approximately $500 worth of books for both winners! Titles come from Chaudiere Books, Coach House Books, Cormorant Books, ECW Press, Freehand Books, Goose Lane Editions, Insomniac Press, Mansfield Press, Pedlar Press, and Tightrope Books!
Publication in the Best-Of Anthology and online!
Cost per submission: $10
Fiction up to 12,000 words / Poetry up to 3 pages; Open to International Writers
