Sad news out of Montreal yesterday, that the poet
Susan Briscoe has died, two years after a diagnosis of advanced terminal
cancer, something she ended up writing about on a blog she created for such a
subject, The Death Project.
Her poetry collection, The Crow’s Vow, was published by Signal Editions/Vehicule Press in
2010, a book I reviewed here, and interviewed her about here. As her blog has announced (you can see the full announcement/obituary here):
It is with great
sorrow that we announce the death of Susan on Friday, August 31, 2018 in
Montreal at the Montreal University Health Centre (Glen) palliative ward. Her
sons, Oliver and Nathan, and her beloved partner, Roy Cross, were by her side.
Susan also leaves to mourn her parents Bob and Raye Briscoe, sisters Lorraine
and Tracey, brother Rob, nine nieces and nephews, and numerous dear friends.
Condolences to those that knew her, and were close to
her.
