fwd: VerseFest 2019 (Ottawa) seeking volunteers!

A note from Monty Reid, VERSeFest Director

Hi everyone

We're gearing up for VerseFest 2019 (March 26-31).  It promises to be the biggest and most dynamic poetry festival in Ottawa to date.  It will feature videopoems, music and an exhibition of concrete poetry, plus the appointment of two new poet laureates, and some 80 poets from around the world. Watch for announcements next week.

As always, we can't put this on without volunteers, and we're hoping you'll be able to help us again.  We can use help on social media, at the gate, at the merchandise table and at the bar (you'll need SmartServe). As always, we need drivers who wouldn't mind doing a couple of airport runs. This year, we're also looking for a couple of people to help out with the sound system.

You get a free pass to the events you work at.  If you work at more than two events, you get a pass to the entire Festival.  Sometimes you get handmade chocolates, sometimes you get t-shirts, sometimes you get our undying gratitude.  And you definitely will get an invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation Night at Vimy Brewing Company on February 7, with free drinks, book giveaways, poetry, music by the Moonfruits and more.  Watch for that too.

Send me a note if you're interested.  We'll get you on the list.

Monty Reid
Director, VerseFest
