Pte. Swain, J.J

Along the lines of what I posted last year on my great-grandfather, Joseph Joe Swain (my mother's maternal grandfather), and the year prior, a WWI-era letter to my great-grandmother, Mamie Swain, from her brother, I present more memorabilia discovered in two tins that remain of the Kemptville, Ontario Swains, and my great-grandfather, who not only fought in the First World War, but survived a mustard gas attack.

Joe (as he was known) was but one of an array of family from that corner that fought in the War, along with possibly two of his wife's brothers, and his wife's father. I am still working out the whos and the whats of that particular branch.
